SUPERSPORT UTD REWARD TOP PERFORMERS
Defender Morgan Gould and forward Thabo Mnyamane stole the show at the SuperSport United end of season club awards ceremony held in Melrose Arch on Monday night.
Mnyamane walked away with two prizes, the Chairman’s Award and Player’s Player of the Year Award, as voted for by his peers at the club.
Gould played a vital role in the United defence under the tutelage of Stuart Baxter, who had coached him at Kaizer Chiefs, and for his outstanding exploits he was recognised with the club’s Player of the Season award.
The enterprising and silky Teboho Mokoena, who had tongues wagging last season with his confidence and composure on the ball in the United midfield, deservedly walked away with the Young Player of the Year award.
Jeremy Brockie, who proved to be a nightmare for goalkeepers and defenders in the PSL, walked away with the Golden Boot for his 20 goals in all competitions for the club.
In team news announced on the night, Matsantsantsa confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Thakasani Mbanjwa from Bidvest Wits and promoted the pair of Sipho Mbule and Riyaaz Ismail.
