THE LIFT GOLDEN TICKET HUNT IS BACK FOR ITS FIFTH YEAR AND THIS TIME IT’S BIGGER THAN EVER

Yesterday LIFT took advantage of April Fool’s Day to soft launch its annual Golden Ticket Hunt, the campaign which started as a one-day activation in Cape Town growing into a nationwide campaign, with millions of rands in flights and partner prizes given away to date. Dropping ‘Easter Eggs’ on socials, the company hinted at a possible Golden Ticket hidden somewhere in Cape Town. While some thought it was an April Fools gag, many knew how seriously LIFT takes its Golden Tickets, leading to one lucky winner finding the first ticket within 30 minutes of the post.

The good news is that this year, LIFT is switching things up. Instead of a single-day hunt, the campaign will run throughout April, giving travellers more opportunities to take part.

Physical Golden Tickets will be hidden across four cities – Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria – with clues released exclusively on TikTok. Participants will need to follow the clues, identify the locations, and race to find the tickets.

In total, 15 physical Golden Tickets will be hidden, with a total prize value of R150 000.

Luckily, for those not in the city or on the apps – the campaign also includes a digital component. Every Friday, participants will be invited via email to take part in an online hunt by finding a hidden “Golden Egg” on the LIFT website. Three additional winners will be selected through this mechanic.

The campaign runs all April 2026, with clues dropping throughout the month on TikTok via @liftairline.
