WE WANT TO WIN-BAFANA BAFANA COACH HUGO BROOS

Bafana Bafana got down to business during their first training session in Dobsonville, Soweto, on Tuesday afternoon and coach Hugo Broos believes that things are coming together.

Broos was satisfied with what he saw as he continues to prepare the South African senior men’s national team for the friendly internationals against Sierra Leone on September 24, and Botswana on September 27. Both matches will take place at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg and kick off at 3pm.

“The players did well, they did all that we asked of them and it was great to see the team smile and have fun. It is about hard work too, but it’s always refreshing to see players loving what they do”, said the Belgian.

Terrence Mashego sat out Tuesday’s training session due to a tight abductor muscle,  while Ashley Du Preez joined the team in the afternoon after Lyle Foster was released owing to an injury.

Given the changes that the coach has been forced to make in the squad, he is perplexed at the current injury list. “It’s hard to believe the injuries of mostly strikers at the moment, and this now gives us time to take a look at other players. So it’s not at all bad, it is quite positive,” he said.

Broos admits his job is not easy but believes it is important to get the team back to winning ways.

“It is often in losses against great teams where the most valuable lessons are learned, but then again you can’t always be learning the lessons and not winning. Everyone loves a winning team and we’re a great team and we want to win.”

Bafana Bafana will be eager to prove what they are really capable of in these two matches and as Broos himself said after announcing his squad, these games are an opportunity to rebuild the confidence in the camp.

Supporters are urged to come out in numbers and cheer the  team along and tickets are available at www.ticketprosa.co.za
