Gauteng Government to officially open Moses Kotane Primary School in Braamfischerville Soweto
The Gauteng Department of Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi, together with his counterpart, the MEC for Infrastructure Development Mr. Jacob Mamabolo, will on Friday, 19 May 2017, officially open the newly constructed Moses Kotane Primary School, Braamfischerville in Soweto, Johannesburg.
The School is the third new school in the area, following Nomzamo Madikizela-Mandela Primary and Nkoana Marupeng, which will cater for the needs of Braamfischerville, a new housing development site that is rapidly expanding.
The province is currently experiencing shortage of classroom to enable GDE to deliver basic education within the province. However, if the right to education is going to be satisfied, a fundamental building block in achieving this is the provision of suitable facilities in a manner that will stimulate the culture of learning so that it can take root and grow. Moses Kotane Primary School is a perfect example of such a facility provided by the South African government to the community of Braamfischerville in Soweto, Johannesburg.
This is one of many more schools that the departments intends opening in townships across the province each month until 2019, as we drive the Gauteng Province Transformation Modernisation and Reindustrialisation strategy to become a reality.
