BLUE CHIP BRANDS JOIN FORCES WITH SOWETO KOTA FESTIVAL

Generous Mzansi brands that operates majority of their businesses in the townships have reciprocated to the township community  by  bankrolling the upcoming fun filled Soweto Kota Festival happening this Saturday and Sunday at the Elkah Stadium Oval in Rockville, Soweto

Top on the list is Premier FMCG PTY Ltd owned company  Blue Ribbon leads the pack by being one of the major sponsors of the much awaited Kota Festival. During the recent Media briefing  launch held at SUD  Restaurant in Vilakazi Street, Soweto this Publication spoke to some of them on the sidelines.

Sarah Hoyte, Brand Manager of Blue Ribbon, said, “We like to support communities where we operate. Without these communities we are nothing.”

Lucia Malapane, Marketing Manager at TymeBank said, “This is a perfect platform for our institution to showcase our SME offerings.”

Trevor Zungu, one of the organisers, said, “These brands made a lot of sense by coming on board. They are community brands that promotes township economy.”

Mpumi Kabane, Assupol Specialist in Consumer Education and Corporate Affairs pointed out Kota Cousin fitted with their company brand and line there are championing.

Beverly Madzena, of Maponya motors that represents  Soweto based VW and Toyota said, “Its great opportunity for us because the late Richard Maponya built a legacy in Soweto. Kota is a legendary thing for us hence we felt we need to help out. Furthermore we want to be involved in the community we operate,” Madzena argued.
