Mamelodi Sundowns, the reigning CAF Champions and current Betway Premiership log leaders, face a tricky assignment this evening at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane, Pretoria, where they are expected to lock horns with a wounded Siwelele FC.

This league encounter is the Brazilians’ seventh match of the 2026/27 season. A victory tonight could see them widen the gap between themselves and second-placed Orlando Pirates, provided they manage to collect maximum points.

Presently, Bafana Ba Style sit at the summit of the PSL table with 16 points after five wins and one draw. Their opponents, Siwelele, have acquired only two points from two draws and have lost three of their matches.

This match is a must-win for the Bloemfontein outfit to improve their log standing and escape the relegation zone. In an official statement earlier this week, Siwelele confirmed they have parted ways with Head Coach Lehlohonolo Seema and his assistant, Willem Jackson, while conducting an internal review of the senior team’s recent dismal performances. Furthermore, they revealed that former player and club official Godfrey Mosoetsa has been appointed as caretaker coach with immediate effect to oversee the first team during this review process.
