SAFA & Netcare to roll out First Aid Training

19 October 2017 – The South African Football Association (SAFA) in close partnership with Netcare will be rolling out first aid training to the 52 SAFA regions across the country starting from the month of October.

With the recent rise of cardiac arrest incidents and medical incidents affecting the game even at amateur level, the SAFA Coaching and Medical Departments was propelled to redesign a programme working closely with Netcare to curb the recent spate of medical incidents happening in the football.

“The SAFA Education Programme’s main objective is to develop qualified South African coaches for deployment into all SAFA structures as a means to develop better players. However, this cannot be achieved without integration with the science of football through proper health care and medical knowledge” says SAFA’s Coaching Education Manager, Mr Frans Mogashoa.

SAFA Regions from Limpopo, Gauteng and Mpumalanga will have their five-day first aid course from Monday, 30 October until Friday, 3 November while KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Free State, North West and Northern Cape will have their training from 13 to 17 November.
