KHUNE RULED OUT OF THE CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP DUE TO INJURY

Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune has been ruled out of the 2019 Carling Black Label Cup due to a shoulder injury. The absence of Itumeleng Khune, who had received over 80 000 votes to date, has been replaced by Bruce Bvuma.

Following the news that Khune will be ruled out of the Carling Black Label Cup, on the 27th July at the FNB Stadium, an SMS was sent to all fans who had voted for the goal-keeper, confirming that they will be credited back with all votes, so that they may reallocate.

We understand that this announcement will disappoint our loyal supporters who cast their votes for Khune in the starting line-up.  We believe, however, that there is talent in abundance for the fans to select their strongest line-up in the remaining Kaizer Chiefs squad.

Since inception of this unique and innovative campaign in 2011, fans have been able to choose the squad of players that they want to see on the pitch and, barring a few instances of injury, their wishes have materialised.
