Upbeat schools coaches fancies their chances

Buoyant coaches believe their school teams have what it takes to win gold medals in the upcoming newly launched African Bank U18 Football Challenge.

Speaking to EJN on the sidelines after the launch and draw held at the UJ Soweto Campus.BopheloImpilo Secondary School Coach, LefaMoselane told this reporter that this is going to be a toughest test for his boys given that they are in the same group with their rival Clapham High School.

“On our side we are prepared, it is a big stage for the boys, but we are ready for it.”

Eugene Radebe, Coach of Emshukantambo Secondary in Pimvile Soweto, said,  their group teams are a closed book.

“We are used to big stage tournaments. We will take the field fully prepared. A big stimulus for us is that we have also qualified for KMotsepe tournament. These games will serve as a good preparation for us,” said Radebe.

On the Girls segment, Rosina Sedibane, Coach, GaeLephalo, urged fans to come in their numbers to watch this Tshwane outfit play football like their boys counterparts.

“We are going to play matches of our lives,” She said.

Mito Matole, Dr BW Vilakazi coach said, “This tournament is an open good opportunity for girls to play soccer. The finest thing is to feature girls.”

Kick off for these matches is today at  AW Muller Stadium at the UJ Bunting Road Campus in Milpark.
