AWARD-WINNING MAKHADZI, KING MONADA AND THEBE ALL PART OF THE CARLING CUP’S MUSIC AND FOOTBALL FESTIVITIES

Champion fans are in for a treat with a musical and football feast during the Carling Cup at The New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, 6th January 2024.

Carling Knockout champions Stellenbosch FC will take on a Carling All-Star team that was voted for by fans – assembling a mix of current stars and emerging talent which will be led by Orlando Pirates FC’S coach, Jose Riveiro.

The Carling Black Label Cup is set to bring Polokwane to a standstill with a not-to-be missed musical festival on game day, featuring, Makhadzi, Limpopo’s Song of the Year winner King Monada, and legendary kwaito artist Thebe.

Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa “Kwaito”, who is also a dancer and musician, will be part of the many acts that will be entertaining champion fans on the day. Champion fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the show before the football spectacle.

Gates open at 12:00 and tickets are still available for R40 at TicketPro outlets nationwide.

The Carling All-Stars sees fan-voted players from across the PSL come together to take on the champions of the Carling Knockout. Fans are also still able to get involved with R900 000 up for grabs in Fak’ iGoal Uzobona. The day also features a stunning line-up of big name musical performers that are sure to Fak’ uGesi. Fans can be part of this spectacle at the New Peter Mokaba stadium with tickets available at just R40 each” said Carling Black Label’s brand director, Arne Rust.

R900 000 will be up for grabs with the Fak’ iGoal Uzobona initiative. Fak’ iGoal is a concept by champion beer Carling Black Label that has been encouraging teams throughout the Carling Knockout to score early to create excitement and as the tournament says to – Fak’ uGesi

All that champions fans need to do is to correctly guess which team will score first and the minute the first goal will be scored on to stand a chance of winning. The figure decreases by R10 000 with each passing minute without a goal.

One lucky champion fan who will correctly guess the exact minute that first goal will be scored on will get the remaining amount. The team that will score that goal will also receive that amount. To enter, fans can dial *120*660# and follow the prompts. Ts&Cs apply, USSD 20c/20s.

There is also R2-million up for grabs to the team that will win the match, with the runners-up receiving R1-million.

A sensational Stellies side are set to battle with the real-life fantasy team that are the Carling All-Stars.

Itumeleng Khune is still in goal, with Galaxy’s Sanoka being part of a four-man defence that includes Masibonge Ngidi, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Jabulani Mokone.

The midfield quartet features Mfundo Vilakazi, Edson Castillo, Siphamandla Zikhali and Kagiso Mnguni. Letsoalo replaces an injured Erasmus, and is partnered with Ashley du Preez upfront.

The fans will also have the power to vote for the Man of the Match who will pocket R100 000. Stellies’ Iqraam Rayners is chasing an impressive fifth successive Man of the Match nod after being the fan favourite in all Stellenbosch’s matches.
