BAFANA BAFANA REPORT FOR DUTY AHEAD OF MAKE- OR-BREAK CLASHES AGAINST LIBERIA

Bafana Bafana have assembled for camp in preparation for the crunch back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Liberia.

Coach Hugo Broos’ charges host the first match at Orlando Stadium on Friday 24 March (kick off is at 18h00) and tickets are available at Ticketpro, online and at participating petrol stations. The team will then travel to Monrovia by charter flight on Sunday morning to face the Liberians on their home turf in a match due to take place on Tuesday 28 March 2023.

The Bafana Bafana coach had a tough task trimming his side down from the 35-man preliminary squad he initially selected two weeks ago and is pleased with the personnel he has at his disposal.

“I am happy that the players are available and most of them are already in camp, with a few international players still on route to South Africa. A full squad compliment (of 23 players) is expected by Tuesday morning,” he said.

Luke Le Roux, Sphephelo Sithole, Mihlali Mayambela and Bongokuhle Hlongwane are yet to arrive in camp.

“We have a positive vibe in the camp and I’m happy with the spirit and the energy. Soon everyone will be here and then we knuckle down and prepare for this crucial qualifier again Liberia,” said Broos.
