BONGANI BUCK TRENDS AS HE BRINGS JOBURG THEATRES INTO DIGITAL SPHERE

Bonganintando Maseko, popularly known as Bongani, is a man on a mission to enhance Joburg Theatre’s digital presence and his efforts speak volumes. In his capacity as the Digital Content and Public Relations Senior Manager for Joburg City Theatres, Bongani is responsible for overseeing digital content strategies and managing public relations efforts. His role spans across the theatrical landscape, including Joburg Theatre, Roodepoort Theatre, and Soweto Theatre. “My role is crucial in enhancing the organisation’s online presence, reputation, and engagement with its target audience,” he explains.

This underscores the pivotal role he plays in steering the digital narrative for the theaters.

Working in the creative and entertainment sphere, Bongani finds immense joy in blending artistry and strategy. 

He considers it fulfilling to collaborate with talented artists and creators, and developing brand strategies that resonate with audiences, creating experiences that linger in the minds of spectators.

The dynamic industry allows him to merge his passion for creativity with the rigour of strategic thinking.

“It allows me to combine my passion for storytelling and business strategy in a way that’s fulfilling and exciting,” he shares.

Through the revamp of social media and the creation of a user-friendly online hub, Bongani has turned digital platforms into vibrant spaces showcasing productions, artists and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. 

This has not only promoted shows but actively engaged the audience.

Bongani hails from Mabopane, Pretoria. What attracted him to the theatre and the entertainment space is the broad spectrum it encompasses, catering for diverse preferences.

His passion for the creative space also extends into his personal life as he also immerses himself in cultural and artistic pursuits.
