BALOYI THRILLED TO COACH MILANO FC IN THE CASTLE AFRICA 5s CONTINENTAL TOURNAMENT!

Johannesburg based side – Milano FC were crowned the 2018 Castle Africa 5s National Champions following an entertaining final against Royal Lakes from Soweto at the Rand Show in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Milano won 4 – 2, with goals scored by David Martin scoring a brace, Kgopolo Dabula and Brandon Morris giving their team, the first Castle Africa 5s National title.
The CASTLE AFRICA 5s which has been dubbed Africa’s biggest 5-a-side tournament is played across six countries namely; Lesotho, South Africa, Swaziland; Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Fans from across the continent are afforded an opportunity to not only represent their country in a continental showpiece competition, set for 24 – 18 May 2018 but can also use their skills to score a trip to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia!
The tournament is the first of its kind and is set to become the hub of where friendships will be created, nurtured and cemented on the football field.
To illustrate the magnitude of the CASTLE AFRICA 5s, the tournament has the backing of one of the World’s greatest athletes from Africa, former Cameroonian National Team striker, Samuel Eto’o who is a four-time recipient of the African Footballer of the Year award and has played in three World Cup tournaments.
This years’ diski extravaganza saw 78 teams challenge for the championship. The teams were split among three cities namely:- Johannesburg, Cape Town & Port Elizabeth.
Speaking at the tournament, Brian Baloyi who is Team South Africa’s mentor was pleased with the talent on display “ Five-a-side is such an exciting form of football, it is more casual but also very fast-paced and exciting. This tournament is a great way of bringing people together but I was also pleased with the talent I came across while watching. I am definitely looking forward to mentoring these young men, from the determination they should this past weekend, they truly have what it takes to score a trip to Russia” exclaimed an excited Baloyi.
Brand Manager, Castle Lager Africa, Thomas Lawrence said that the 2018 edition of the Castle Africa 5s was a resounding success.
“The tournament has been a huge success and we are excited to be shaping the culture of South African football through this new sponsorship initiative. This partnership aims to impact the lives of many football loving fans across the continent whilst simultaneously creating friendship bonds.

The continental finals will be played from the 24th to 28th of May 2018 in Lusaka, Zambia where the winning teams from each of the six countries will compete for the ultimate prize of being hosted by football legend, Samuel Eto’o at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
