Super Eagles are closing in on the Free State ABC Motsepe League title while the relegation battle will go down to the wire.
Eagles are one win away from securing the league title after they recorded a 6-0 victory over already-relegated Dinonyana FC on Thursday, 13 April 2017.
The Free State leaders are now five points ahead second spot Harmony FC with two games remaining, while a victory against Dla 2 FC on Saturday, 22 April will secure top spot.
Harmony moved up to second spot in the standings after registering a 2-1 victory over Dla 2 at the Phuthaditjhaba Stadium on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Bubchu United’s title hopes were dashed over the weekend, as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Lijabatho FC, who moved out of the relegation zone with the win.
With Dinonyana already condemned to the SAB League, Lijabatho and Dla 2 FC will battle to beat the drop in the next two match days.
At the moment, Dla 2 sit in the final relegation spot, but they are one point adrift of Lijabatho.
However, Dla 2’s task will not be easy as they travel to the Show Ground to take on leaders, Super Eagles while Lijabatho take on Dikwena United on match day 29.
