ENGEN PARTNERS WITH CHERY AT PREMIUM LEPAS L4 LAUNCH TO DRIVE STRATEGIC COLLABORATION

Engen proudly partnered with Chery Group South Africa for the launch of its premium sub-brand Lepas and the highly anticipated Lepas L4, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening of strategic relationships within South Africa’s automotive sector.

The collaboration saw Engen play an active role at the pre-launch drive experience and exclusive gala unveiling. The partnership reflects Engen’s commitment to supporting leading automotive brands while positioning itself as the preferred supplier of high-quality fuels and lubricants.

As part of the activation, Engen delivered a fully branded and immersive experience hosted at Engen Lonehill Service Station, which served as a key touchpoint showcasing Engen’s premium retail and forecourt offering. The activation included a curated hospitality experience featuring refreshments and a Brazmata coffee bar, reinforcing Engen’s brand presence in a high-engagement environment.

“This partnership with Chery represents a meaningful step in strengthening our position within the automotive value chain,” said Jason Heath, General Manager: Lubricants at Engen.

“By engaging directly with Chery’s leadership, dealer network, and customers, we are not only showcasing our products but also building long-term relationships that support mutual growth. As Chery prepares for its manufacturing expansion in South Africa, Engen is well positioned to support this journey with our trusted fuels and lubricants offering”, added Heath.

Thaven Moodley, Head of Sales and Marketing: Lubricants at Engen, added: “Aligning with forward-thinking automotive partners like Chery allows Engen to showcase the performance of its lubricants portfolio in real-world premium driving conditions, while strengthening engagement across the automotive ecosystem.

This collaboration also provides a valuable opportunity to engage directly with customers, dealers and industry stakeholders, while demonstrating the performance of our fuels and lubricants in a premium driving environment. It comes at a key moment as Chery prepares to expand local manufacturing at its Roslyn facility later in 2026, creating a strong foundation for future collaboration.”

Chery Group South Africa also welcomed the collaboration: “Our partnership with Engen adds significant value to the Lepas brand experience,” said Tony Liu, CEO of Chery Group SA.

“Engen’s commitment to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with our vision for Lepas. Together, we are creating a seamless ecosystem that enhances the ownership journey for our customers while strengthening the broader automotive landscape in South Africa.”

The Lepas L4 launch itself was a landmark occasion, unveiling a premium compact SUV that combines striking design, advanced technology, and refined comfort. The event reflected a shared vision between Engen and Chery, delivering elevated experiences that go beyond mobility.

As Engen continues to invest in strategic partnerships and customer-focused innovation, collaborations such as this reinforce its role as a trusted partner to leading automotive brands and a key contributor to the future of mobility in South Africa.
