FNB ISLAMIC BANKING AWARDED THE BEST ISLAMIC BANKING WINDOW FOR SEVENTH YEAR IN A ROW

FNB Islamic Banking has been awarded the Best Islamic Banking Window for the seventh consecutive year at the 13th annual Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA).

The GIFA awards are a celebration of excellence in the Islamic Banking and Finance sectors. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Dakar, Senegal on the 14th of September 2023.

GIFA recognises the best in Islamic Banking and Finance and has grown to become one of the most coveted awards in Islamic Banking and Finance worldwide.

Amman Muhammad, CEO of FNB Islamic Banking says, “To be recognised as the “Best Islamic Window – 2023” by the prestigious Global Islamic Finance Awards is indeed an honour and an acknowledgement of a business that strives for excellence in a Muslim minority country. This award builds on the foundation of the strong legacy that the FNB Islamic Banking leadership has constructed, in a country that is quickly emerging as the gateway to Islamic finance on the African continent.

FNB Islamic Banking is the predominant Islamic financial services provider in the Southern African Development Community and is rapidly expanding into other critical regions of Africa. Recognition of this stature is testament to the consolidation of talent and technical appreciation of dynamic business environments, which, has once again resulted in FNB being recognised on the global platform at GIFA as the Best Islamic Window for 2023.”

Founded in 2011, GIFA celebrates excellence and best practices in Islamic finance across various categories ranging from industry players to service providers, Shari’ah scholars and academicians in various sectors within the Islamic finance industry, with ultimate objectives of promoting social responsibility, adherence to Shari’ah authenticity and commitment to Islamic banking and finance.

These accolades add to several significant awards that the FNB Islamic Banking team have received in the past few years, including the 2019 Global Business Outlook Best Islamic Banking Window in South Africa and the 2018 Islamic Retail Banking Critic’s Choice Award as the Most Trusted Brand.

“This award further enhances FNB’s leadership status in a country that is an African Islamic finance leader and continues to grow and promote the Islamic finance industry on the continent. We express our sincere gratitude to the leadership at GIFA in recognising not only our contribution to the industry but their commitment in developing our industry,” concludes Muhammad.
