GAUTENG TO OBSERVE RECONCILIATION DAY 2023 IN SOKHULUMI

The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) will hounour the 2023 Day of Reconciliation on 16 December in Sokhulumi in the City of Tshwane. 

The area is situated in Bronkhorstspruit and falls under the traditional leadership of the AmaNdebele King. 

The programme of the day is meant to highlight the important role played by traditional authorities in embracing democracy and promoting social cohesion and nation building.

Held under the national theme “Strengthening unity and social cohesion in a healing nation”, the event will take the form of cross-cultural activities geared towards nation building and showcasing of indigenous history and artistic prowess.

“Our goal as the people of Gauteng should be to embrace our diversity and moments that bring us together in the pursuit for inclusive nation building and growing Gauteng together”, says Gauteng MEC for sport, arts, culture and recreation, Morakane Mosupyoe.
