
The City of Joburg’s Rea Vaya BRT buses will operate a special service on Saturday 15 August 2026 for the soccer match between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Mamelodi Sundowns FC at the FNB Stadium.
Soccer fans will be transported conveniently from Sandton, Alexandra (T4 buses), Cresta (C4 buses), Yeoville, Parktown (F11 & F12 buses), Florida North (C5 buses), Joburg CBD and some major parts in Soweto using event service buses to the FNB Stadium. From Sandton and Alexandra use T4a buses to Library Gardens Westbound to connect event service buses to the FNB stadium.
The frequency of T4a services will operate a 5 minutes frequency from 11h00 from Sandton and Alexandra to the Joburg CBD. Rea Vaya Soccer City (FNB Stadium) station will open from 10:00 on Saturday, 15 August 2026.
Soccer fans using the T3 buses from the Joburg CBD and Braamfontein will connect event service buses at the Rea Vaya Orlando Stadium Station to FNB stadium without paying extra cost for the trip.
Soccer fans using event service trunk buses from Ellis Park North are allocated a secured park and ride side at the Johannesburg Stadium. The park and ride facility at the Johannesburg stadium is free for use by soccer fans traveling to and from FNB stadium
As part of safety and security precautions, the city advises soccer fans to access Rea Vaya buses and get to the FNB Stadium early before kick-off at 15h00. No alcohol beverages will be allowed in the Rea Vaya buses and stations.
After the match, all Rea Vaya buses leaving FNB Stadium will operate at 5 minutes frequency to transport soccer fans to their destination points.
Rea Vaya services from FNB Stadium will end at 19:00. The last T4a bus from Joburg CBD to Alexandra and Sandton will leave Library Gardens Eastbound at 20h00.
Soccer fans can use account-based ticketing cards available at all Rea Vaya stations for R30.00 to travel to the soccer match. Soccer fans are encouraged to load travel cards with funds for a return trip. These can also be used for future travel in Rea Vaya system.
Soccer fans from Thokoza Park in Soweto and Park Station to the FNB Stadium will pay only R14.00, Sandton (Atholl) and Alexandra to FNB travel cost is R19,00.

Soccer fans are encouraged to buy travel card for R30.00 at all Rea Vaya stations and load funds to travel to the FNB stadium. The card will be used for travel on Rea Vaya and for future events.
Please Note:
Rea Vaya BRT Feeder buses in Soweto F1 (Naledi), F2 (Protea Glen), F3 (Jabavu), F4 (Mofolo/Boomtown), F5 (Eldorado), F9 (Mapetla) and F10 (Pimville) are still NOT operating and the City apologise for lack of services.
