Its official ! 16  of the best talented  Nedbank Ke Yona team members have been drafted into Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs where they will spend a month.

This was recently revealed at The Venue in Melrose Arch Johannesburg.

Organizers told the packed media that they are hoping these players will catch the eye of the various head coaches by putting into practice the lessons they have learned during their time in the Ke Yona Team Search camps.

Furthermore it was disclosed that, this opportunity will provide them with a potentially life-changing opportunity, not just for themselves, but also for their families, as they seek to earn professional contracts and build a career in the Premier Soccer League.

Nedbank Head: Group sponsorship and Cause Marketing, Tobie Badenhorst is on record arguing that, these are the kind of opportunities that Nedbank as a responsible financial institution endeavors to secure in order to uplift players as well as the communities from which they come from.

“The life-changing prospect of being part of a Premier Soccer League team is what has the 2018 Ke Yona team beaming with enthusiasm and hope, the same hope that 20-year old Bloemfontein Celtic Bongani Sam experienced this time last year. Following his selection into the Ke Yona squad, the lanky left-back was drafted into Bloemfontein Celtic for a month-long spell where he scored a first-team contract with Phunya Sele-Sele.

“We believe that if even a handful of the players walk away from the programme having learnt about how to manage money differently, we would have entrenched the culture of being financially savvy. Nedbank is proud to be able to afford an opportunity of this magnitude to various communities and will certainly continue to play this important role of making others dreams a reality.”

The determined Ke Yona Team Search players contenders took on the 2017/18 Nedbank Cup champions , Free State Stars on last month and went on to place their names in the Ke Yona history books when they scored the development sides second goal of the Ke Yona challenge.

Khensani Nobanda, of Nedbank told the packed media that the placement was a culmination of celebrations.

“We are very happy, proud and privileged to be behind the Ke Yona team.”

Jeremiah Mathonsi, a Supersport United prospect told this publication that he was ready looking forward to showcase his talent.

“I am very excited and happy to be part of the Supersport family. I will work hard to please myself, family and my fans.”

Xolela Bonxa, a rightback, heading to Lamontville Golden Arrows FC told this reporter that he was more than ready for this opportunity.

“I will make sure that I make the grade and make the stage.”
