LAST CHANCE FOR FANS TO VOTE FOR THE FOUR TEAMS TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2022 CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP

Having launched the 2022 edition of the Carling Black Label Cup on the 6th of September, Champion fans now have less than a week left before voting for the top four teams who will participate in this year’s Carling Black Label Cup officially closes. The intensity is rising as several Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs rally their supporters to secure a spot in the historic Cup.

Since the voting lines opened, the only teams with experience in playing the Carling Black Label Cup; Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, have consistently led the pack week on week. But as is the nature of voting, the standings could still change as fans rush to make sure their favourite teams are part of the spectacle set for the 12th of November at the FNB Stadium.

The closing of the transfer season might play a role in how the Champion fans vote as all teams have been highly competitive in the transfer market, with Orlando Pirates completing a big scoop by signing the likes of Kermit Erasmus from Mamelodi Sundowns last week.

Voting lines for the “Vote for your Club” phase of the 2022 Carling Black Label Cup will close on Sunday, October 2 at midnight. To date the fourth spot has been the most contested position seen thus far when it was recently occupied by Swallows FC, who mounted a spirited campaign to depose AmaZulu a few weeks ago.

“We would like to encourage football fans to get their tickets and use this final week to vote for the teams that they would like to witness in action in this year’s exciting Cup” said Arne Rust of Carling Black Label. “Fans and teams may rest assured knowing that the results are as per the fan vote, as with every year, we have worked very closely with auditing firm, Grant Thornton to ensure a credible audit of all the votes.” Added Rust.

One lucky fan still stands the chance of winning a R100 000 cash prize simply by voting! To enter, football fans over the age of 18 can purchase a selected Carling Black Label beer and dial *120*660*unique code#; select their preferred clubs, and starting from the night of the 3rd of October, their starting line-up. Following the announcement of the starting line-ups, fans can vote for their Captain and then the Man of The Match during the game. Entry is 20c per 20 seconds on USSD and free for Vodacom users.

All matches will be played on Saturday, November 12 2022, at the FNB Stadium. Champion fans are invited to witness this highly anticipated fixture LIVE by purchasing their match day tickets from Ticketmaster or Computicket. A ticket will give fans access to all the matches (please note no passouts) and come in three categories: Level 5 which will sell for R80, Level 1 – R140, and Level 2 for R200. The FNB stadium also offers hospitality packages which are sold through SAIL at www.sail.co.za
