Lehoko quits

1 February 2019 – SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan described long serving member Ms Pinky Lehoko as a walking library of South African football.

Bidding farewell to Ms Lehoko at SAFA House yesterday, Thursday, 31 January 2019, Dr Jordaan said Ms Lehoko was a symbol of professionalism, dedication and an honest hard-worker.

“She is a walking institution of the sport and SAFA is poorer without her. However, she remains part of this sport,” he said.

Dr Jordaan said the fact that Ms Lehoko had worked within the Corporate Services department where she was now the General Manager, within the legal and compliance departments serves to show she had mastered everything within the Association and football in general.

“Today marks a sad day for SAFA to lose such an honest individual,” he said adding that the doors of SAFA would remain wide open for Ms Lehoko.

Pinky, as Ms Lehoko is affectionately known in football circles started as a personal assistant to the then SAFA secretary general and then executive President, the late Sticks Morewa, rising within the Association ranks.

She has on several occasions acted as the Association CEO in addition to being the General Manager in charge of Corporate Services.
