WITH only a week before the Miss SA 2017 showdown takes place at Sun City, the public has been encouraged to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.
South Africa’s 12 intelligent and gorgeous ladies would be strutting their stuff at the revamped complex in March 26, in what would be the showdown of the year.
Carnival City was last years’ host.
In a record the first in the pageants history, the new Miss South Africa 2017 pockets a whopping R1million cash from sponsors Sun International and Cell C, as well as a bouquet of prizes that will elevate the competition to one of the richest pageants in the world.
Claudia Henkel, Sun International spokesperson says with these years’ prizes been elevated the contestants are hard at work fine tuning themselves; as the country and the world awaits who will walk away with this magnificent prize on offer.
“We also urge the public to buy tickets early to avoid disappointments,” said Henkel, who also promises loads of surprises on the evening.
Having met and interviewed some of the contestants, this will prove too hard for Judges (Maps Maponyane, Bridget Masinga and Ezra Davids, among others) to select the winner.
Also, for the first time, the public has been invited to partake by voting to have their say in who wins the prestigious title. Public SMS votes have a 25 percent weighting of the overall voting towards the winner, with 75 percent resting with the official judges.
Anyone can enter the competition by sending an SMS with the key number of their favourite Top 12 finalist to the short code number, 45791. Each SMS will cost R1.50.
Proceeds from the competition will benefit the Cell C Girl Child Bursary Fund.
