A joburg based disabled couple are planning to tie the knot soon after being one of the beneficiaries of the City’s social housing development, thanks to Johanesburg Social housing company, (JOSHCO).

A partially visually impaired Simphiwe Tyuakadi and his wheelchair bound fiancée Busiswa Lizani who lived in a Roodepoort backroom for almost a decade became first time home owners that suited their needs at the newly built Fleurof flats, south west of Johannesburg.

The rolling out of these flats was part of Joshco’s 10 year’s anniversary celebration. The housing company also announced that basic amenities, such as water, electricity and decent infrastructure will be provided in these flats

“I am so excited and in loss of words. The only thing I want in life is to take this relationship to another level.” said Tyuakadi. His fiancée also shared the same sentiment and said, “Iam on cloud nine and can’t contain my joy. I feel very special. There is no doubt that sooner or later, a nuptial ceremony might be on the cards. What else can I ask for in life”. Rory Gallager, Joscho’s CEO told this publication that affordable rental housing was part of the integrated development in the city. Housing MMC, Dan Bovu, said, his department was delighted to see the much appreciated effort of housing people.
