Despite playing for almost an hour with only ten men Polokwane City played to a 0-0 draw against Chippa United in an Absa Premiership match at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium on Tuesday night.

Chippa were poor in front of goal despite having a one man advantage with the stalemate extending the Chilli Boys’ winless run to seven matches.

The draw sees Chippa up to 24 points from 23 matches which places them at 11th place on the table, four places above the relegation zone but only three points out of danger.

The 0-0 draw for Polokwane will be seen as a victory after playing the majority of the game one man down.

The point sees Polokwane stay inside the top eight, currently placed at seventh spot with 28 points from 23 matches.

The game its self on Tuesday night was a rather dull one with both teams scrappy in possession. Neither side could really mount a serious attack due to poor passing and bad decision making in the final third.

The only real talking point in the first half was the dismissal of Essau Kanyenda who received his first yellow card in the 11th minute for a tackle on Rhulani Manzini and then his second in the 35th minute after foul on Justice Chabalala.

The second half was not much better. Despite Chippa seeing a lot of the ball they struggled to create many significant scoring opportunities.

The closest we came to a goal was just after the half hour mark when Polokwane defender Thabiso Semenya produced a goal line clearance to deny Kristopher Bergman.

In the end the match filtered out to a rather dull 0-0 draw.
