POLOKWANE CITY EDGE CELTIC
Polokwane City beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 in an Absa Premiership clash at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Salulani Phiri and Monde Mpambaniso found the back of the net for the visitors who ended their winless run in the league thanks to an 89th minute goal.
Mpambaniso found the back of the net in the final minute of regulation time after Kabelo Dlamini had levelled matters, to hand Rise and Shine all three points with victory moving the Limpopo club up to fifth place on the log standings.
Mohamed Anas teed up Phiri for the games opener int he 13th minute with the visitors finding a way in behind a stubborn Siwelele defensive line.
The visitors looked on course for all three points, but Phunya Sele Sele were not going down without a fight and duly levelled matters in the 79th minute through Dlamini.
City, though, would restore their lead 10 minutes later through Mpambaniso. The wing-wizard with the winner on debut, having emerged from the bench to great effect.
Polokwane are now level on points with fourth placed Celtic and third placed Mamelodi Sundowns who beat SuperSport United by the same scoreline in Tshwane.
