
The 2026 Joburg Ladies Open officially got underway on Tuesday, 14 April 2026, with an exciting Pro-Am that brought together top professional golfers, amateurs, sponsors, and partners at Randpark Golf Course. The event served as the perfect curtain-raiser, blending competitive spirit with camaraderie and setting the tone for a week of world-class women’s golf.
Special prizes added to the excitement, with Innocentia Matau claiming Nearest to the Pin on Hole 17, while Danielle Chong powered her way to the Longest Drive on Hole 4. Third place honours went to professional golfers Cara Gorlei and Kirsten Rudgeley, who teamed up with amateurs Danielle Chong, Mari Naude and Lesley Richards.

Second place was secured by professionals Tvesa Malik and Patricia Isabel Schmidt, alongside amateurs Michelle Fenske, Minah Sindane-Bloem and Monique Harris. Top honours on the day went to professional golfers Dercey Harry and Emma Spitz, who teamed up with amateurs Ntombi Dlamini, Ngwako Ramohlale and Innocentia Matau to clinch victory.
The day concluded with a welcome function and prize-giving ceremony, where the Executive Deputy Mayor and Acting Mayor, Cllr Loyiso Masuku, welcomed players, sponsors, and partners.
Congratulating the winners and acknowledging the organisers, she praised the collaborative effort behind the tournament: “The Joburg Ladies Open continues to grow from strength to strength, and the Pro-Am demonstrates Johannesburg’s ability to host world-class sporting events. By working together, we are positioning our city as the sports destination of choice with world-class facilities.”
She also highlighted the broader impact of the tournament: “The growth of this tournament reflects the City of Johannesburg’s commitment to women’s empowerment and equal opportunities. We are proud to support initiatives that elevate women’s sport and create meaningful opportunities for athletes.”
Looking ahead to the official launch, she added: “It will be my honour to hit the ceremonial tee shot on Thursday to officially start the tournament. I wish all the professional golfers the best of luck as they take to the fairways and lush lawns of Randpark Golf Club.”
