Phathutshedzo Nange announced his arrival in the Absa Premiership with a stunning half volley strike in early October that earned him the September/October Goal of the Month award.
As the first Leopards player to win the Goal of the Month award, the 26-year old midfielder scored a goal worthy of winning any game as Lidoda Duvha triumphed 1-0 over Limpopo province neighbours, Baroka FC. The goal, which came after an aerial scramble in the 18-yard area towards the end of the match, is now a contender for the Goal of the Season award.
Nange’s goal was selected from a shortlist of ten brilliant contenders scored in September/October from fan votes, who picked their favourite on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) website. Other contenders included Orlando Pirates’ Vincent Pule’s excellent finish against Baroka FC, Jabulani Maluleke’s stunningly executed free kick when Polokwane City shocked Bidvest Wits and Ayanda Patosi, in his side Cape Town City’s draw at Orlando Pirates, just to name a few.
Football supporters are urged to continue to decide the winner of the Absa Premiership Goal of the Month award through casting their votes on the PSL website. The winning monthly goal will be selected as the best from the online votes cast by supporters who will pick their favourite goal. The September/October fan winner was Kaizer Chiefs supporter, Khululiwe Zulu, from Umlazi in Durban, who has won the 2018/19 Kaizer Chiefs jersey.
Proud sponsor of the Absa Premiership, Absa, continues to reward football supporters that vote for the winning goal during the 2018/19 campaign. Every month, one lucky fan will win a jersey of their favourite Absa Premiership club. The winning fan will be selected through a random draw after voting for their favourite goal.
Each of the goals selected during the monthly voting will go towards the list of goals that will be voted for the Absa-lutely Goal of the Season at the end of the season.
Voting for the Goal of the Month for November opened on Wednesday, 5 December on the PSL website and will close at midnight on Monday, 31 December. Football supporters can go to www.psl.co.za and cast their votes. All the shortlisted goals are available on the PSL website for public voting.
