Stellenbosch FC registered a 3-1 comeback win over Baroka FC in a 2020-21 DStv Premiership match at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday.

Back-to-back wins in the league moves Stellies up to ninth on the league standings, level on points with Bakgaga but above the Limpopo club on goal difference.

Baroka opened the scoring in the 28th minute following a short break in play due to a thunderstorm in the area. A costly error by the visitors in the wet conditions gifted the hosts with the ball and Ananias Gebhardt duly set up Kgodiso Monama, who finished from close range past Sage Stephens.

Stellenbosch levelled matters six minutes later as Rafiq de Goede and Stanley Dimgba teamed up for the second game in succession.

Having also scored against Cape Town City on the weekend, Ashley Du Preez also made it two goals in two games as he latched onto a pass from Deano van Rooyen to fire Stellies into the lead in the 40th minute. The duo also combined for a goal on Saturday.

Phathutshedzo Nange made sure of the result in the 90th minute as he found the back of the net off the bench for the umpteenth time this season.
