PSL CONGRATULATES NFD CHAMPIONS STELLENBOSCH FC

The Premier Soccer League congratulates 2018/19 National First Division (NFD) champions, Stellenbosch FC.

Stellenbosch were promoted to the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon during a dramatic action-packed “Super Sunday” NFD matches.

League acting Chief Executive Mato Madlala praised Stellenbosch’s determination which saw them claim the top prize.

The champions drew 0-0 with Maccabi FC in front of their home crowd at Idas Valley Sports Grounds. They finished the season with 56 points.

Royal Eagles finished with 53 points following their 0-1 loss against Ubuntu Cape Town.

RELEGATION:

Going to the last weekend of the NFD, Witbank Spurs were already relegated to the ABC Motsepe League.

Despite their gutsy performance on the last day, Ubuntu Cape Town joined them as the second NFD that has been relegated.
