Talk Max gets Gen Z and Millenials talking on FNB Connect

FNB Connect recorded nearly a third more outgoing calls for customers, since the launch of Talk Max in October 2019. Internal data revealed a fascinating mix of outgoing calls not only by Baby Boomers and Generation X customers, but a surprisingly strong showing by Millennials and Generation Z customers. Contrary to expectations, 55% of the total hours were clocked up by Gen Z and Millennials.

Len Pienaar CEO of FNB Connect says, “We are fascinated by our findings regarding the Generation Z and Millenial customers’ talking behaviour. We know that data is one of the most important things to them, but this is proving that talking remains a very important need in everyone’s life, irrespective of age. Customers are now making the most of our affordable Talk Max  plans to connect freely without the inconvenience of running out of airtime.”

“In these challenging economic times, customers are desperate for solutions that will assist them to manage their already stretched budgets better.  We have put the power back into their hands by offering them unique month-to-month Top Up plans that helps them save and control their telco spend.” Pienaar added.

Talk Max TopUp plans offer customers unlimited voice minutes on calls to any local network, 24 hours a day.  These month-to-month plans require no credit checks and also gives customers the freedom to cancel their plans and convert to Prepaid, at any time without any penalties.

FNB Connect customers receive the following benefits on Talk Max and Talk Max Pro plans, and they also have the option to top up their data with once-off data vouchers, at anytime.

Whilst both plans offer unlimited voice minutes, there is a fair usage policy that customer need to adhere to. This includes for Talk Max; no more than 120 unique outgoing numbers should be called per month, a least 15% of the number of calls per month must be incoming calls, and the use of 50MB or more on data per month. For Talk Max Pro; customers can call a maximum of 200 unique numbers per month, ensure at least a 5% of the number of calls per month are incoming calls, and use 100MB or more data per month.

“Adhering to the fair usage requirements is important to ensure that the products are used by our customers for their everyday cell phone needs and not misused for commercial or other purposes. This will ensure that the products remain viable for us, whilst fulfilling the needs of our customers,” states Pienaar.
