TOP PERSONALITIES TO HEADLINE 2024 CORPORATE CHALLENGE

Top South African personalities will be amongst the 15 000 field of runnersthat will put their fitness to the test at the 2024 edition of the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge®️that takes at the Wanderers Club on Thursday, 14 March at 6:30pm.

With this celebrated workplace fitness event now in its 11thconsecutive year of the relationship with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, all entrants will have the wonderful once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run alongside some of South Africa’s foremost sporting greats, Laureus South Africa ambassadors and media personalities. 

South African personalities and Laureus Ambassadors such as South African sprinting sensation Akani Simbine, Springbok legends Morne du Plessis and Bryan Habana, former Proteas netballer Dumisani Chauke, media personality Elana Afrika, mountaineering duo Saray Khumalo and Deshun Deysel, will be among the runners that will join thousands of employees from 350+ companies, to this incredible road running event.

Motshidisi Mohono, the bubbly and talented SuperSport rugby broadcaster, will join the other ambassadors as she also laces her running shoes as one of the new faces for the annual 5.6km corporate race this year, for her maiden appearance at the race next month,which has encouraged and celebrated workplace fitness since 1977. 

“I’m trulyhonoured to be among the thousands that will lace up for this annual event. To be among the list of South African sporting greats is also an honour in itself. Through my involvement in sport and representing Laureus Sports for Good Foundation in South Africa, together with these other fantastic ambassadors, has shown how sport has the power to change and bring positivity in society and in young people’s lives,” said Motshidi Mohono.

Laureus Sport for Good is a charitable organisation that supports various sport for development programmes around the world, who use the power of sport to bring about social change.

In celebration of the South African leg of the world’s largest corporate running event, runners and corporates that would like to donate their old or gently worn footwear, are encouraged to do so by bringing their pairs and dropthem off at the Sneaker Shack on race day. In association with the Laureus Sports for Good Foundation, Sneaker Shack through the CSI Project Run, will be collecting all the ageing footwear and then refurbishing themfor people in need.

Project Run was set-up to provide everyone with an easy channel to donate these types of footwear to those who need it more,with the goal to keep running alive. The Project Run movement want to empower and let young South African’s realize their own potential through running and other sporting activities. Through this, not only can they nurture upcoming talents but find talents and start a greater movement.

As one of the world’s largest after-work employee event, the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge®️ Series will once again provide an exhilarating experience for company participants as they complete the 5.6-kilometer course at the Wanderers Club. This year, all the corporate health enthusiasts can look forward to even more post-race entertainment as the sensational Mzansi Youth Choir will be taking the stage after the race, ensuring a truly memorable post-race concert.
