TS Galaxy captain, Mlungisi Mbunjana believes the mood in the team is very high and positive. Speaking to a horde of journalists midweek ahead of their Nedbank Cup final encounter against Durban City at the Robertsham Callies United venue South of Johannesburg.
The Eastern Cape born Midfielder said it’s a wonderful feeling to play in the final.
“Every player is happy and putting their hands up for selection. Every coach is different and has different beliefs. We have to adapt to what our interim coach is bringing to the team. We have a young coach who come with his different ideas and philosophy. We have to win this cup for our fans. We are the only top flight team from Mpumalanga.”
His sentiments were also echoed by Zimbabwe international Junior Zindoga who plays as a forward for the ‘Rockets’.
“We are feeling good ahead of this Cup Final. We are professional human beings. We have to embrace interim coach new tactics.”
Saluleko Mahlambi Galaxy left winger and one of the youngest player in the Galaxy squad. This 21 year old player told journalists it means a lot for him to play in the Nedbank Cup Final in his first year in the PSL.

“We will work hard to win this trophy. Everyone is in good spirits, the mood is high and positive and we are more than ready for this encounter.”

The Rockets interim Coach, Benard Parker reminded journalists that TS Galaxy is the first and the only team that won the Nedbank Cup final while playing in the National First Division (NFD) the second tier of South African Football.
“I am a servant of the game as a player and now as a coach. Interestingly while playing for Kaizer Chiefs I scored a winner against Supersport in the Nedbank Cup Final 2013. And famously lost to Galaxy in 2019 final. Years later I am coaching the same team in the final. I think its designed by god’s grace. Nobody expected me to be here.”
