Mpho Mokwena

In celebration of Women’s Month, Tshepisong Library recently hosted a Mini Girls Talk. The event was aimed to empower young girls from local primary schools, including Harry Gwala, Ongkgopotse Tiro, and Tshepisong Primary.

Karabo Mantse from Tshepisong Clinic, representing Nova Health-Youth Zone, discussed the natural bodily changes girls experience and reassured them of the availability of free sanitary pads at the clinic.

Queen Malinga, a JMPD officer, spoke about body confidence and the importance of reporting inappropriate behaviour.

Aldozella Mngomezulu stressed the importance of abstinence and informed the girls about preventing unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.

Martha Chauke, representing Library Promotion, invited the girls to visit the library often and taught them how to care for library materials.

The event was a success, leaving the young attendees empowered and informed.
