Meanwhile, Royal AM secured their maiden win of the season when they thrashed Free State Stars 3-1 at the Chatsworth Stadium.

The victory saw Royal, who are now under the guidance of former Mamelodi Sundowns academy coach Floyd Mogale, climb out of the relegation zone.

At the Kabokweni Stadium, TS Sporting extended their unbeaten run to three matches when they drew 1-1 with Pretoria Callies.

The action continued on Sunday afternoon with Khanyiso Mayo grabbing a brace which inspired Richard Bay to a 4-1 win over a winless Cape Town Spurs side in the Mother City.

While Sekhukhune United climbed up to the third spot on the standings after they came back from behind to defeat Steenberg United 3-1 at home.

Sekhukhune’s Limpopo-rivals, Polokwane City also recorded a win as they edged out University of Pretoria 1-0 at the Tuks Stadium.
