YOUTH EXPO TRAINEES TO BE CERTIFIED, THANKS TO GAUTENG  e-GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT

The Gauteng Department of e-Government (e-Gov) will be honouring young people who received training and work opportunities after participating at last year’s Youth Technology Expos.

The Youth Tech Expo (YTE) was hosted by e-Gov with the aim to empower young people from the province with knowledge of the ICT sector, career opportunities as well as training and mentorship programs. This was made possible through various partnerships with the business sector, who played a critical role in enabling employment and training opportunities for the youth.

The department will be awarding 71 young people who received recruitment and ICT training from the department’s partners EOH and Assupol Life with certificates of participation.

The youth were divided into groups and dispersed to participate in difference programmes as follows:

  • 22 young people are placed in the ICT Skills training program by IT Thynk, this is a company associated with EOH
  • 25 are placed in an Entrepreneurship program by Prime Stars,this is a company associated with EOH
  • 20 are placed with Afribiz from the program dubbed Period Poverty this is another company associated with EOHand.
  • 4 young women are placed with Women Distribution Channel program by Assupol Life.
  • In addition to this, 5 young people were awarded with 5 laptops to help them in their endeavours.
