In the true spirit of giving, Orlando Pirates Football Club took a moment from their busy December schedule to bring festive cheer to the Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society.
The visit, which came just days before the highly anticipated Christmas Eve’s Betway Premiership clash at home against Marumo Gallants, was a heartfelt gesture aimed at uplifting the less privileged during the holiday season.
Led by the club’s media officer, Thandi Merafe, the Orlando Pirates staff delivered Christmas gifts and groceries to the organisation, sparking joy and hope among the children. “Christmas is a very special day to spend with family,” said Merafe. “As a club, we found it fitting to come to the Tembisa Child and Family Welfare and spend time with our young supporters.
Dreams are possible, and this day is special to us because it encourages the underprivileged to believe that the impossible is possible.”
The initiative aligns with the club’s commitment to fostering a deeper connection with the community and spreading the values of kindness, family, and hope. It also serves as a reminder of the club’s ethos: a responsibility not only to excel on the pitch but also to inspire and uplift beyond it.
