A PARENT’S GUIDE TO ‘BAKER BAKER’ SUCCESS

Fun, Quick Recipes with Futurelife® Rice Pops

A cherished tradition in many pre- and primary schools across South Africa is ‘Baker Baker’. It is however more than just a fun activity; it can also aid child development. Children learn essential life skills like following instructions, measuring ingredients, and managing their time, all while fostering creativity and problem-solving. The tradition also encourages family bonding as parents and children work together to prepare treats, teaching teamwork and responsibility. But, finding time to bake for tomorrow’s ‘Baker Baker’ can be stressful between work and family commitments, and last-minute evening baking often becomes the only option for busy parents.

Meet your new go-to helper, FUTURELIFE® RICE POPS, which hit the shelves just a few months ago. Not only are they a crispy and crunchy breakfast option, but they also offer parents a healthier and delicious ingredient to turn your ‘Baker Baker’ offering into a winner. According to Sonal Ratan, Dietitian at  FUTURELIFE®, their RICE POPS are made with 93% rice flour and enriched with three essential minerals – zinc, copper, and selenium – that support the normal function of the immune system. With less than half a teaspoon of sugar per 30g serving and no artificial colourants or flavouring, they’re perfect for making treats that children (and adults) will love.

Ratan shares four simple and delicious no-bake recipes using FUTURELIFE® RICE POPS, perfect for time-pressed parents and excited little bakers. These come straight from FUTURELIFE®’s new children’s recipe book, FUTURELIFE® TREATS FOR KIDS. “They’re best enjoyed in small portions as part of a healthy balanced diet and active lifestyle,” she advises, “ideal for special occasions and treats rather than everyday snacking.”
