The Take A Seat Awards will return for its second year on 28 November 2025, recognising exceptional women and youth leaders whose work is reshaping South Africa’s leadership landscape.
The awards ceremony will take place in Johannesburg, bringing together 60 leaders, executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers to honour individuals demonstrating purpose-driven leadership across seven categories.
Now in its second year, SATT has established itself as a credible leadership platform where young professionals and experienced executives engage in meaningful dialogue matched with practical action. The event has grown from its 2024 launch, with demand for participation increasing significantly as the platform’s global profile continues to expand.
This year’s theme, “Occupy the Seat, Lead the Change,” reflects the current leadership imperative facing South Africa. The theme calls on emerging and established leaders to take ownership of their influence and drive transformation with integrity and accountability.
The seven award categories include Leadership in Action, Innovation and Creativity, Mentorship and Support, Community Impact, Resilience and Perseverance, SATT Legacy Award, and SATT Ambassador. Each category recognises a distinct form of leadership contribution across business, community and public sectors.

SATT CEO, Vuyelwa Diniso said, the awards serve as a reminder that leadership remains one of South Africa’s most powerful tools for change.
“We live in a country where people are tired of empty promises and tired of watching potential go to waste. Yet we continue to see women and young leaders who stay committed to the work. They show up, they innovate, they build teams, they open doors, and they carry others with them. These are the people who teach us what leadership looks like in real life,” Diniso said.

“This initiative is about honouring them, but it is also about reminding every one of us that leadership demands courage and consistency, not applause. We’re recognising people who’ve chosen responsibility over comfort and purpose over recognition.”
The ceremony will host young professionals under 40 alongside senior executives, entrepreneurs and policymakers, reflecting the intergenerational collaboration that has become central to SATT’s model.

The Take A Seat Awards come at a time when South Africa requires credible and ethical leadership across all sectors. The individuals being honoured on 28 November 2025, are among those helping to restore possibility through their work in communities, organisations and industries nationwide.
