AVULEKILE AMASANGO, A CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP FOR ALL FOOTBALL FANS

This year, Carling Black Label celebrates a decade-long legacy of a Cup fixture that has transcended the way fans of footballs engage with the beautiful game. With each fixture, the brand has explored different ways to empower their Champion fans, by giving them unprecedented power over the game. The 2022 Carling Black Label Cup set for the 12th of November 2022 will be no exception as for the first time in the Cup’s history, all 16 Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs stand a chance of participating.

The final four clubs that will partake in the Carling Black Label Cup will be determined by the Champion fans as they will have to vote for the clubs that they would like to see compete at the FNB Stadium. Voting for the clubs is now open and will close on the 2nd of October 2022. The final four clubs selected by the fans will be announced on the 3rd of October 2022.  From there on, as with every Carling Black Label Cup, the Champion fans can select their preferred starting line-ups until the 6th of November when voting for this phase of the campaign closes. With the ongoing league matches during the voting period, fans will be able to determine which players they believe will lead their respective teams to victory.

Speaking at the media launch at the FNB Stadium, Carling Black Label Brand Director, Arné Rust expressed the brand’s excitement for this year’s Carling Black Label Cup; “We know that this is what the Champion fans have been asking for. It gives us great pleasure to host a Carling Black Label Cup that includes all the top-flight football teams. This year there will be 4 teams playing in this year’s football spectacle, which we believe will be an exciting preview of what football enthusiasts can anticipate when we launch the inaugural Carling Knockout Cup in 2023.”.

This year the brand further announced that there won’t be a “Be The Coach” competition, instead, one lucky fan stands the chance of winning the R100 000 cash prize, simply by buying a selected Carling Black Label and voting during the campaign. It’s a new and revitalized Carling Black Label – now, it’s anyone’s game.

Coaching the team from the bench has been a unique experience that the Champion fans who have had the pleasure of partaking in, truly enjoyed. We would like to shift our focus to doing more and empowering our Champion fans beyond the football pitch and giving away R100 000 is one way we will be doing that this year.”. To stand a chance of walking away with the cash prize, football fans over the age of 18can enter by purchasing a selected Carling Black Label beer and dialling *120*660*unique code#; selecting their preferred clubs, starting line-up, Captain or Man of The Match Entry is 20c per 20 seconds on USSD and free for Vodacom users.

All four matches will be played on Saturday, 12th November 2022 at the FNB Stadium. Champion fans are invited to witness this highly-anticipated fixture LIVE by purchasing their match day tickets.
