The recent much revered Soweto Kota Festival attracted dozens of brands who came to support this spectacular event and showcase their products.

They also gave goodies to the lucky winners who participated in a draw at this packed to the rafters Soweto Cricket Oval multi-purpose stadium betterly known as Elkah Stadium.

Amongst the most visible immaculate, pristine and dean and tidy stalls was Castle Lager, mzansi’s oldest beer brand-the iconic, somewhat dry, somewhat bitter and never sweet beer.

Wikipedia describes it as a South African pale lager.

‘It is the flagship product of South African Breweries and has been recognised as the National Beer of South Africa, based on the fact it is 100% grown and produced in the country, and for its ability to unite the community behind a common cause.’

BACK TO THE STORY! Castle Lager Brand Manager, Kirsten Golding was also on site to witness and be part of those brands that supported this growing annual event.

On the sidelines she told this publication she believed this was a celebration of food, meals and heritage.

“As a brand we are saying in every event of this magnitude, we will make sure we support the common cause and will always be here in the best possible way.”

Golding also issued a stern advise to the Mzansi nation.

“You have the power and opportunity to make this country a beautiful country.”
