CLINICAL FORENSIC MEDICAL SERVICES TO PROMOTE TAXI DRIVER WELLNESS

 

In a quest to encourage people to lead healthy lifestyles during this Easter period, the Gauteng Department of Health will be embarking on prevention of injuries campaign tomorrow, 12 April 2017 at  Oakmoor Taxi Rank, Tembisa.

 

The campaign, focusing on taxi drivers aims to create awareness around the need for condom use, healthy lifestyles, prevention of injuries, deaths and spread of diseases.

 

The campaign is a joint venture with Department of Labour, taxi associations and Road Accident Fund

 

Health care workers will also on the day conduct health screenings such as blood pressure, glucose, voluntary HIV testing, as well as distribute educational materials such as pamphlets and leaflets to taxi drivers and passengers.
