OPENING OF CMJAH MAIN ENTRANCE FOR PUBLIC USE

Following the collapse of the roof at Charlotte Maxeke JHB Academic Hospital, intense investigations were undertaken by the engineers and inspectors from the Department of Labour and the Department of Infrastructure and Development.  Temporary remedial interventions were undertaken to ensure that the area is safe and secured.

Management at CMJAH resolved to open the Main Entrance in Level 5 for use by the public and staff from 4 April 2017.  Buses and taxis will drop off the public in Hospital Street, no stationary vehicles will be allowed in the area.

Patients will move back to Area 156 (Counter A) for registration and admission.  Directions and signs will be put up to show how to access clinical services.  Queue marshals and security officers will be on hand as well to assist.

The porters will be placed in Hospital Street to assist patients who require a wheelchair.

Our sincere apology to all for the inconvenience caused, and we wish to thank all our clients for their patience and support.
