HOUSEMATES RELIEVED-NO EVICTIONS IN THE FIRST WEEK OF BIG BROTHER MZANSI-UMLILO

Big Brother Mzansi S5 housemates were left breathing a sigh of relief during the first live eviction show this Sunday, after finding out that there were no evictions for the first week of the Umlilo season.

Last week, the housemates nominated each other for eviction, unaware that the nominations were fake.

The seven housemates who thought they were on the chopping block: Ash-Ley OgleGuguKay BMandy HaganSavage, and eventually Nsuku when Sweet Guluva put her up for eviction to save Ash-ley, were all left reeling but relieved when they realised they were actually safe for another week.

However, the fake nominations served as a harsh reminder of the unpredictable nature of the game. One wrong move could put their dreams of winning the R2 million prize in jeopardy. This experience will undoubtedly serve as a wake-up call, reminding them that their time in the house is uncertain and can be cut short at any moment.

Smash Afrika was back on stage looking dashing as he delivered another Biggie twist. With him around, there is no reason to suffer from FOMO as he brings you the Smash Sunday Scoop.

Eemoh took to the Big Brother Mzansi stage with a performance of his hit song Masithokoze, exciting the audience as they sang along.

Sweet Guluva, the reigning Head of House, vowed to defend his title and prove he’s not a one-hit wonder. However, will it be worth it with the new twist Biggie introduces? Will his move of saving Ash-Ley and replacing her with Nsuku cause yet another uproar in the house? You know what they say, “Revenge is best served cold”, but in Biggie’s house, you serve it HOT!

Biggie’s fake evictions raised questions about the value of Sweet Guluva’s save and replace power. Was it all in vain? Will there now be tension between Sweet Guluva and Jojo? And should Jojo win HoH, will she use the title to avenge herself? That could prove a very complicated manoeuvre as winning the HoH challenge does not guarantee you the title.

Biggie introduced a new twist to the game:

Hot off the Smash Sunday Scoop stove, as of today, 20 January there’s a new twist to the Head of House game, called the Head of House Challenger.

During the first live eviction show, Smash Afrika revealed that the Head of House Challenger will give four housemates a chance to dethrone the current Head of House for that week.

What this means is:

  • On Mondays at 12:00, the housemates will compete for Head of House and a winner will be announced.
  • That same day, at 18:00, four housemates will take part in the Head of House Challenger.
  • Whoever wins the Head of House Challenger becomes the Head of House and inherits all the privileges that come with it – such as staying in the Head of House loft and getting a save and replace – as well as taking on all HoH duties.
