Eagles crowned champions of ABC Motsepe League in FS

Super Eagles have been crowned champions of the Free State ABC Motsepe League after walloping Dla 2 at Globler Park on Saturday to trigger wild celebrations among the players, technical staff and supporters.

The champions sealed their promotion with a game to spare while two sides, Dla 2 and Dinonyana were condemned to relegation.

But the week belonged to Eagles who hosted Dla 2 at the Gobler Park and their runaway victory sealed a memorable season for the champions who will now head to the play offs for promotion into the National First Division.

The victory sees Eagles clinch the title with one game to spare. They have five points ahead of second-placed Harmony FC.

The loss for Dla 2 means they will be playing in the SAB League next season as they suffered relegation along with Dinonyana whose fate was sealed a week ago.

Harmony will finish the campaign in second spot after their 3-1 win over Sibanye Golden Stars. The win moved them four points clear of third-placed Bubchu United who drew 1-1 with Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
