SAFA MOURNS THE PASSING OF FORMER BAFANA BAFANA TEAM MANAGER SIPHO NKUMANE

The South African Football Association (SAFA) is mourning the passing of former Bafana Bafana team manager Sipho Nkumane.

Fistoz Nkumane said his 56-year old brother passed away on Sunday, 16 August 2026.

“He passed away in hospital in Sebokeng a few days ago. The family is devastated,” his brother said.

“He leaves behind three children. The funeral is on Saturday, 22 August 2026. But we will have a Memorial Service on Thursday, 20 August 2026,” said Fistoz Nkumane.

SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan said Nkumane’s passing was a huge loss to his family, the Association and football at large.

“Our sincere condolences to his family and we grieve his passing. May his soul rest in peace,” said the SAFA President.

Nkumane left a mark in South African football after serving in various areas, including as Bafana Bafana team manager.
