 The 2018 Sasol Women’s League got off to a great start this past weekend teams kicked off their battle for supremacy in what is set to be a tough season of the league.

Mamelodi Sundowns sent out a strong warning to fellow contenders with a 16-0 humiliation of Soweto Fabulous at Chloorkop while TUT Football put Hallelujah Zebra Force to the sword with a 7-0 thrashing.

JVW had to dig deep for a hard fought 1-0 victory against a spirited Tuks at the Bedfordview grounds.

Up in Limpopo, Kanatla Ladies were dismantled at home by Morning Stars with a 7-1 drubbing while University of Limpopo single goal against Botlokwa Ladies earned them a vital victory on the road.

Things got off to a firing start in the North West when Golden Ladies edged out Platinum Arsenal 2-0 at home while North West University came out victorious by the same scoreline away to Gopane Ladies.

Meanwhile, clubs from the KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape provinces will use this week to prepare for this weekend when they kick off their respective seasons while Northern Cape kicks off their season on Saturday, 21 April.
