High Tea media launch sets the tone for the 2027 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa journey
Johannesburg, South Africa.
An afternoon celebrating purpose, power and possibility marked the official launch of the 12th season of the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa, as media, nominees, alumni, directors and members of the Woman of Stature community gathered at Reign Restaurant at D’Oreale Grande Hotel, Emperors Palace.
More than an event to announce a new awards season, the elegant High Tea celebrated the legacy of a platform that has spent more than a decade recognising women for their leadership, influence and impact.
The afternoon created an opportunity for meaningful conversations, connections and reflections on what it means to lead with purpose. It also welcomed a new group of 2027 nominees into a community built around celebrating women who are creating change in their industries, communities and beyond.
Among those in attendance were Shereen Hunter, Joythi Maharaj, CEO Charlotte du Plessis and Director Tandi Potgieter, alongside 2027 nominees and alumni.
Adding a powerful connection between the past season and the next was Ncumisa Saba-Mkunqwana, the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa Overall Winner for 2026, who delivered the keynote address.
Ncumisa’s presence was particularly significant. Having been recognised for her own leadership and impact in 2026, she shared her journey and perspective with the women now embarking on the 2027 journey, demonstrating the calibre of women and stories that sit at the heart of Woman of Stature.
“The 2027 awards is about more than launching another awards year. It is about opening the door for another group of extraordinary women to have their stories heard, their contribution recognised and their impact celebrated,” says Charlotte Du Plessis, CEO of the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa.
“Stature is not simply about a title or position. It is reflected in how a woman leads, the people she lifts, the difference she makes and the legacy she creates.”
Following the Johannesburg launch, Season 12 now includes regional awards with Media launches to take place in both KwaZulu-Natal on Friday, 2 October 2026, at the Premier Splendid Inn in Umhlanga and in Cape Town on the Friday 16th October.
As the 12th Season gathers momentum, the Woman of Stature Awards South Africa looks forward to uncovering and celebrating another extraordinary group of women whose influence reaches far beyond themselves.
Johannesburg opened the door to the 12th Season. Now the journey continues.
